Itinerary

Leave the chaotic streets of Marrakech and head to the mountain village Imlil in a 90 min drive. Our driver will pick you up in an air conditioned vehicle from your accommodation in Marrakech. You will meet your guide in Imlil village where your adventure will begin. We will follow the path uphill crossing the stunning Mizane Valley, heading to the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. The latter is a convenient halfway point to rest and, get watered and fed. The final hours of the hike will take us to the Toubkal refuge, where we will spend the night. The refuge is pretty basic and but covers all your necessities. It has a lounge area with a fireplace and a heater to get you warmed up. Added to this, there are toilets and hot showers. Overall the refuge is clean and well kept, and provides an excellent place to rest and meet other hikers.

Today, we will target the Ouanoukrim twins, the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks in the High Atlas. They both stand at the head of Mizan Valley. The trek to the twins will not only be culminated with a stunning view of Mount Toubkal, but it will also test your legs and prepare your body for the big hike. We head back to the refuge for lunch, where you can spend the day resting your muscles and absorbing the beautiful surroundings. Total walking time approximately 7hours.

Today is the day! We wake up early and start the climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal. The path rises steeply as we continue our hike steadily. Our professional guides will help you navigate safer routes to the summit. You will begin feeling footsore and exhausted, but the view from the summit are magical and definitely worth the pain you are feeling. Peaks and snowbound valleys will make themselves visible to you, as you stretch your eyes North and South contemplating the Atlas Mountain Range and whole of Morocco! We will retrace our way back to the refuge. Time for the ascent is around 4 hours; total walking time 8 hours.

The last day, you will have breakfast, and walk back down via the same route to Imlil village, where you will have lunch at a guesthouse before transfer back to Marrakech. Today's walk will take around 4 to 5h, followed by a 1h30 drive to your accommodation in Marrakech.
